		<description>The lock  shape amulet was worn as pendant for kids, was to &quot;lock or seal&quot; life of that kid in his/her body (preventing soul to escape from the body). 

The lock  shape thing that hang on top of the front door of the house with auspicious symbols (shou, fu, bats, plum blossom..etc) engraved on it , is to lock or seal life of family members who live in the house.

That  idea was started from the Ming Dynasty.
