Chinese Antique Carved Peach Pit Beads

This post might have been easily  titled "The Peach Pits of Immortality?" The small 10mm carved olive pits in this 19th century necklace may look familiar to you if you have been reading this blog for a while …

They are the same size and carving as the pit beads in the Mandarin Court Necklace in PictureBook (2010-02-01). [link]

What makes this necklace special to me are the four huge carved peach pits… 40mm x 20mm with 2 carved with a monkey riding a horse and 2 carved with Buddhist monks.
